Sabina is a grad from Robert Morris University and is currently an Inside Sales Manager for ING Source, INC. Sabina is married, she and her husband Mark enjoy being outdoors and travel. Sabina is passionate about people and is a volunteer for Hospice.
Don Wimbish, Treasurer-Don Wimbish has been in the car business in the Hickory area since moving here in 1979. He and his wife Elechia live in Granite Falls and are Members of Concord Baptist Church. Don is active with several mission organizations. Don is passionate about fulfilling the great commission.
Patricia (Pat) Rice-Secretary
Pat is a graduate of Marshall University with a B.S. in Special Education then went on to Appalachian State to acquire an M.S. in Learning Disabilities. Pat is a retired educator. Her interests include painting, gardening, reading and singing. She is a member of Hickory Choral Society and St. Albans Episcopal choir. Pat has also served on the Corner Table Soup Kitchen’s Executive Board as well as the Hickory Choral Society Board.
Pat is a graduate from Appalachian State University. Her hobbies include golfing and puzzles. She enjoys watching football and basketball but most of all loves spending time with her grandchildren, all 16 of them. Pat attends St. Luke’s Methodist church. In her “spare time” she volunteers at the Red Cross, Humane Society and Patrick Beaver Learning Resource Center. Pat is passionate about helping those in need.
Frank Colletto Frank majored in business at Oakton Community College. He and his wife Donna are the owners of “Heaven’s Best” carpet cleaning. Frank enjoys fishing, football and target practice. Frank has a passion for going mission trips and feeding people who are experiencing homelessness. *****
Charles Durrett-Charles attended Louisiana State University. Charles is a Sourcing/Global Sourcing leader. In his spare time he enjoys fishing and gardening. Charles and his wife Bobbie have 2 children, 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is passionate about serving Christ and is active in his church, Christ UMC (Christ Church) Hickory.
The Honorable Clifton Smith –Judge Smith graduated from N.C. State University with a B.S. Accounting and Campbell University, Juris Doctor. He is a N.C. District Court Judge, Burke, Caldwell, and Catawba Counties. Judge Smith and his wife Amy have two children. When he isn’t busy working or attending church activities, Judge Smith enjoys reading, running and exercising with his family. Judge Smith’s passion is watching lives being changed through Safe Harbor.
J.D. Ross-J.D. graduated from NC State with a BS in Business Administration with a Concentration in Finance. He and his wife Meridith have owned a local business called “The Hickory Tree” for 7 years. J.D. is a Leadership Catawba Graduate, has served on boards for the Hickory Young Professionals and as an extension the Catawba Co. Chamber, Young People of Integrity, and now the Old Lenoir Road Business Association. He is also on the Finance team at his church, Kingsway of Hickory.
David L. Washco-David is a graduate of ASU with a degree in Marketing/Management. He is married and has a daugther. David is employed by Carolina West Wireless in Hickory, NC. He enjoys family time, outdoor activities, reading and “dating his wife”. David is a Sunday School leader in his church. He is also a motivational speaker and karate teacher.
Vicki Murray-Executive Director
Vicki was previously employed by Christ Church as the women’s Head Gospel Coach and Life Group Coordinator. From 1996 until 2009, she served as the Showroom Manger of A-1 Tile, a retail and installation business founded by her husband, Chris in 1994. Previous to joining her husband, Vicki spent 19 years building a thriving business in direct sales. Through her journey with Princess House Products, Vicki realized her calling to help women become all that Christ created them to be. This calling led her to volunteer at Safe Harbor Rescue Mission where she led a bible study with women attending the day shelter. She fell in love with the ministry and served as the Resource Development Coordinator for 3 years.
Debbie Haynes-Board Member Emeritus
Debbie Haynes is the co-founder and served as Executive Director of Safe Harbor Rescue Mission from 2005-2012. She is currently serving as the Program Director at Safe Harbor. She received her certificate in nonprofit management from Duke University and is currently working toward certification through City Vision College. She is a member of the Catawba County Interagency Council, the Continuum of Care, and is part of the Nonprofit Collaborative of Catawba County. She is currently on the board for the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Board Election Process
The potential board member will fill out an application. This application will be reviewed and discussed by the current board of directors. At this point, the board will decide if the applicant qualifies as a board member. Once a decision is made, a board position may be offered to the prospective applicant.
